The Narrator is a an exponent character, whose main role is to explain two important elements in the film, in order to limit long expositions and save time.

Story[]

Chapter Two - INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS[]

The Narrator tells the audience the reason Hugo Stiglitz is so famous, namely that he killed 13 Gestapo officers. When the Basterds heard about his deeds, they decided to rescue him from the jail.

Chapter Three - A GERMAN NIGHT IN PARIS[]

The Narrator explains the dangers of the nitrate film. During the early days of the film industry, nitrocellulose-based film print was so dangerous that it was forbidden to bring a film can on board a bus. He then shows us Shosanna looking over Ada Mimieux's 350 nitrate film rolls, planning to use them to set fire to the cinema during the film premiere.
