The Opel Kapitän is a German luxury car made in several different generations by the German car manufacturer Opel, from 1938 to 1970. The Kapitän was the last new Opel model to appear before the outbreak of the second world war, developed during 1938 and launched in the spring of 1939 at the Geneva motor show.

A 1939 Opel Kapitän KPT-39 model is seen parked on the Parisian street near Shosanna's cinema, where private Frederick Zoller walked away in the night, after he met Emmanuelle Mimieux working on the cinema billboard. The car doesn't appear again the next day or for the rest of the film.[1]
