Rodney Sturt "Rod" Taylor (11 January 1930 - 7 January 2015) was an Australian actor of film and television. He has appeared in over 50 films, and is well known for his leading roles in the science fiction classic The Time Machine (1960), and in the Alfred Hitchcock horror story The Birds (1963).
By the late ’90s he had moved into semi-retirement. He appeared in the horror telemovie KAW in 2007.
Taylor suffered a heart attack and died on 7 January 2015 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 84, four days shy of his 85th birthday.
