The Wehrmacht (German pronunciation: [ˈveːɐ̯maxt], lit Defence Force, from German: wehren - to defend and Macht - power, force might) was the unified armed forces of Nazi Germany. It consisted of the Heer (Army), the Kriegsmarine (Navy) and the Luftwaffe (Air Force).
In Inglourious Basterds[]
Despite being called Nazis, the Wehrmacht personnel was not associated with the Nazi Party, although them getting called Nazis by the Basterds was intended as an insult.
Feldwebel Werner Rachtman, Gefreiter Butz and Ludwig, Schützen Frederick Zoller, Hauptmann Wolfgang, Oberfeldwebel Wilhelm, are a few members of the Wehrmacht personnel that appear in the film. A few other unnamed Wehrmacht soldiers also appear in the Parisian scenes and in the La Louisiane tavern.
